I ordered tablecloths, and upon pick-up was told that I had not paid. I had the receipt stamped fully paid with the deposit. On return I tried to talk to the woman who owns the business but she was extremely rude and told me that she was in pain and was sick of this. I did approach her calmly, and she was very aggressive and rude (no doubt she will say I was rude, but it appears that her go to response when addressed about anything, is anger and defense). I have now been told that I am being charged a handling fee, and am not getting my full deposit back. When I signed up for my deposit I was not told about this handling fee, and it was not written anywhere on the receipt I was given. When trying to talk to her again she was extremely aggressive, and hung up on me. She did not allow me to speak, and said she was sick and tired of people doing this to her. When I tried to say that I was trying to calmly explain the issue, she got rude and continued to yell at me, without letting me get a word in. I rung back and said that I have spoken to someone who is a lawyer (did not say that I was doing anything about it) and I am in my right to get my full deposit back, and she went on about me threatening her, and that I will not get any money back except for $20. All I asked for was my full deposit back, which was what was agreed upon. I have never been spoken to so rudely and aggressively by someone trying to run a business. I am absolutely disgusted with this service. I know in Melbourne this would not be accepted, and the only reason the business is clearly going is because there is little competition.
